Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-28
This is the privacy policy for toddleroot.com, the home of Toddleroot’s writing on Toddleroot. It explains what is collected, why, and how to change it.
Newsletter Handling
Mailing-list signup requires confirmation from the address given, which stops anyone subscribing you without your knowledge. Unsubscribe links and a postal address appear in every message, and we do not pass the list to anyone.
The Information Involved
Two kinds of information reach us. The first is automatic: standard server and analytics data such as IP address, approximate location, device and browser details, and which pages of toddleroot.com were viewed. The second is whatever you deliberately hand over — a comment, a newsletter signup, or a message you send us.
- Specific to Toddleroot: we ask readers not to send us sensitive personal details, and we delete rather than retain anything of that kind that reaches us unprompted.
Keeping and Protecting Data
Storage is time-limited and purpose-limited. Subscriber and comment data goes when you withdraw it; analytics data expires on schedule. The site is served over HTTPS, access to what we hold is restricted, and safeguards are kept proportionate to the data involved. No safeguard is perfect.
What It Is Used For
The information is used to keep the site working, to understand which of our guides, comparisons and reference pages are actually read, to send the newsletter to people who asked for it, and — where advertising is served — to support that advertising.
Cookies
Cookies and similar browser storage are covered separately, in detail, in our Cookie Policy.
Where advertising is served, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
Partners and Providers
This site may involve a hosting provider, an analytics provider, an email service (only if you subscribe), and advertising partners (only where advertising is served). Some process data strictly on our behalf; advertising and analytics vendors typically act as controllers in their own right.
Not for Children
Our audience is adult. We do not target children under 13 — under 16 in jurisdictions that set the higher bar — and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If such data is identified, it is removed.
Choices Available to You
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to fix it, ask us to delete it, ask for a portable copy, or object to how it is used. You can also opt out of any sale or sharing of your data for advertising purposes. These rights arise under the GDPR (UK and EU) and under CCPA/CPRA and other US state privacy laws. We recognise Global Privacy Control. See also Do Not Sell or Share and the State Privacy Notice.
